I’ve always prided myself on being an independent and self sufficiant woman. My mother likes to refer to me as an independent little snot. Whatever. I personnally am quite proud of myself however for my accomplishements. My latest being (wo)Man VS. Machine.
My Miata’s passanger side window has not gone up or down since the second week I’ve owned it. A few weeks back, my dad located the new part I would need to fix this on eBay. It was the entire window requlator. Well, Saturday morning, I got out my Haines manual, flipped to the page that shows how to replace the requlator. Stripping the door panel wasn’t a problem since I’ve had that apart before. Taking the old regulator out wasn’t a problem because it was in pieces. And surprisingly enough, putting the new one in wasn’t a big deal. There was a moment of unsurity when the new regulator didn’t want to slip through the slot it had no choice but to go through, but upon further inspection I realized that the bar blocking the way could be unscrewed. All in all, it took me close to two hours to do the job, but with my experiance in the matter (mimimal at best) I think I did a pretty good job. Now my window goes all the way up and all the way down just as smooth as you please.
So yes, (wo)man versed machine and I won.
